General Position Summary:
The DRR Officers (couple) (should be Mahram to each other –Sister brother ,Husband and wife, or father and daughter) works under the supervision of the DRR specialist in consultation with Project Coordinator./Manager They will be working closely with the DRR Specialist internally and externally with community relevant sectors and any other stockholders to ensure the successful implementation of the DRR interventions. The DRR Officers (couple) will work closely with the DRR Specialist /Project Coordinator, Program team and support functions throughout the project lifecycle to ensure activities are delivered timely and in a good quality.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Support in Identifying and analyzing potential hazards and vulnerabilities within the community
- Support and facilitate the development of Disaster Risk Management (DRM) plans that are community-led and tailored to local contexts.
- Encourage active participation from all community sectors, including marginalized groups.
- Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for DRM plans.
- Ensure that grant funds are used effectively and transparently for DRM activities.
- Assist communities in executing their DRM actions and using committee kits effectively.
- Support in organizing Training of Trainers (ToT) programs for staff and community leaders.
- Support the training sessions to build capacity in facilitating CBDRM.
- Assess the impact of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
- Other duties required by the supervisor
Program coordination and management:
- Maintain and coordinate reporting and documentation with the DRR Specialist and other relevant team members.
- Timely preparation of activity progress report from the respective area and share with the DRR Specialist.
