Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Capacity Development Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training and capacity-building initiatives within SGOA’s programs. This role focuses on strengthening the skills and knowledge of staff, partners, and beneficiaries to enhance program effectiveness. The officer will collaborate with program teams, external trainers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of capacity development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Capacity Building Program Development:

    • Design and implement training programs based on needs assessments.

    • Develop training materials, manuals, and toolkits to support learning initiatives.

    • Ensure training programs align with SGOA’s strategic goals and donor requirements.

  2. Training & Facilitation:

    • Conduct workshops, training sessions, and mentoring programs for staff and partners.

    • Use participatory and interactive training methods to enhance engagement.

    • Identify and engage external trainers as needed for specialized training.

  3. Monitoring & Evaluation of Training Programs:

    • Develop and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.

    • Collect and analyze feedback from participants to improve training content.

    • Prepare reports on training activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.

  4. Stakeholder Coordination & Support:

    • Work closely with program teams to integrate capacity development into project activities.

    • Support community-based initiatives and empower local organizations through training.

    • Collaborate with donors, government agencies, and partners to enhance training efforts.

  5. Knowledge Management & Learning:

    • Maintain a database of training resources and materials for continuous learning.

    • Document and share best practices, success stories, and lessons learned.

    • Promote a culture of learning and professional growth within the organization.

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Human Resources, Development Studies, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in training, capacity building, or organizational development, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of adult learning methodologies and instructional design.

    • Experience in developing training materials and facilitating workshops.

    • Ability to assess training needs and measure impact effectively.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

    • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

    • Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari is preferred.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.

    • Commitment to SGOA’s mission, gender equality, and inclusion.
