Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Professional English Trainer is responsible for teaching English language skills while integrating relevant knowledge of computer literacy and Islamic studies. The trainer will develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide a holistic learning experience that aligns with SGOA’s educational objectives. This role requires collaboration with program staff, students, and stakeholders to enhance language proficiency and digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. English Language Instruction:

    • Design and deliver English language courses, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

    • Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and proficiency levels.

    • Develop lesson plans, exercises, and assessments that promote interactive learning.

  2. Computer Literacy Integration:

    • Teach basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, internet usage, and digital communication.

    • Ensure students acquire practical knowledge of digital tools relevant to their education and career development.

    • Encourage the use of technology in language learning.

  3. Islamic Studies Incorporation:

    • Integrate Islamic values and ethical teachings into the curriculum where relevant.

    • Provide guidance on Islamic principles related to education, work ethics, and social responsibility.

    • Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

  4. Assessment & Reporting:

    • Conduct regular evaluations to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and achievements.

    • Prepare reports on course outcomes and suggest improvements where necessary.

  5. Capacity Building & Student Engagement:

    • Organize extracurricular activities such as debates, writing workshops, and IT-based learning projects.

    • Mentor and support students to improve their confidence and communication skills.

    • Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving through interactive learning techniques.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, Computer Science, Islamic Studies, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in teaching English, with knowledge of computer literacy and Islamic studies.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong command of English language instruction methodologies.

    • Proficiency in computer applications and digital learning tools.

    • Knowledge of Islamic studies principles and their application in education.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs.

    • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

    • Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari is preferred.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.
