In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:
  • Work with the Heath facilities staff for ensuring better data collection and management of the data.
  • Ensure and maintain appropriate CDC record keeping.
  • Supervision of Sub Health Centers, Basic Health Centers, Comprehensive   Health Centers, District Hospital and APH for CDC activities.
  • Be able to travel to all Health Facilities of Kumar province.
  • To participate in the response teams to outbreaks and epidemics in the province.
  • To ensure sufficient stock of drugs and other equipment’s for emergencies at project office.
  • Attend all CDC related meetings, workshops, seminars and represent HNTPO.
  • Ensure that all Communicable disease patients treat according to MoPH guidelines.
  • Collect and Analysis the TB quarterly reports and provides feedback and improvement plan to all health facilities.
  • Attend the directors meeting and provide CDC reports related feedback.
  • Attend the coordination meeting and provide action plan base on M&E findings to HFs.
  • Conduct TB and malaria trainings for the facility level staffs in his/her province.
  • Provide on the job training to health facilities staff on TB, malaria, HIV/AIDs and other communicable Disease.
  • Training needs assessment of the health facilities staff in relation to TB, malaria and other Communicable Disease.
  • Prepare action plan for long term and short term activities of CDC related objective.
  • Any other tasks given by the Senior M & E /HMIS officer. 

 

Policy

  • Participate in meetings of the CDC Management Team
  • Represent the CDC Project in policy meetings
  • Participate in developing implementation plans for the next phases of the CDC Project

 

Authority

  • To use the room and computer facilities of CDC office for work activities.
  • Organize trainings, and contact local health authorities for appointments.
  • Plan and conduct supervision missions.
  • According to the job skills more authorities can be added.
Job Requirements:
  • Graduated from recognized medical faculty (MD)
  • Knowledge of BPHS/EPHS
  • Three years’ experience working in BPHS
  • Can fluently communicate in Pashto and Dari, working related English is also essential
  • Good Computer skill (MS office)
  • Training on TB, Malaria, HIV/ AIDs, outbreak management, reporting will be an advantage
