Purpose of the Position
The M&E Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the project M&E system, tracking progress against KPIs, ensuring data quality, supporting reporting to UNESCO, and promoting learning and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Develop and implement the project M&E plan in line with the UNESCO agreement, KPIs, and logframe.
- Track project progress against indicators, outputs, and milestones.
- Conduct routine field monitoring visits to SDL classes, trainings, and BLG activities.
- Support baseline, midline (if required), and endline assessments.
Data Collection and Management
- Design and manage data collection tools (paper-based and digital/Kobo).
- Ensure accurate, timely, and disaggregated data collection (gender, age, vulnerability).
- Maintain and update project databases and dashboards.
- Conduct data quality assessments (DQAs) and verification checks.
Reporting
- Contribute to inception, progress, and final narrative reports to UNESCO.
- Compile monitoring data, analysis, and evidence for donor reporting.
- Prepare periodic internal M&E reports and briefs for management.
- Support preparation of audit and verification documentation related to results.
Accountability, Learning, and Safeguarding
- Support implementation of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) mechanisms.
- Ensure feedback and complaints mechanisms are functional and documented.
- Support safeguarding, PSEA/SEA-SH compliance, and incident reporting processes.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
Capacity Building and Coordination
- Provide M&E orientation and on-the-job support to project staff and facilitators.
- Coordinate with program, finance, and operations teams to ensure coherence.
- Support joint monitoring visits with UNESCO and other stakeholders.
