Purpose of the Position
The District Community Mobilizer will be responsible for mobilizing communities, supporting the establishment and smooth functioning of SDL classes, ensuring inclusive learner participation, coordinating with community structures, and supporting monitoring and reporting activities at the district level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Community Mobilization and Coordination
- Conduct community entry meetings with elders, shuras, and relevant local authorities.
- Support the establishment and functionality of Village Skills Committees (VSCs).
- Mobilize communities for participation in SDL classes, with strong focus on women and vulnerable groups.
- Maintain strong coordination with community leaders, facilitators, and local stakeholders.
Learner Identification and Registration
- Identify and register eligible learners in line with UNESCO selection criteria.
- Ensure inclusion of women, persons with disabilities, widows, returnees/IDPs, and families of martyrs.
- Support accurate collection and submission of learner data using approved tools (paper/Kobo).
Support to Implementation
- Support facilitators in class establishment, scheduling, and attendance follow-up.
- Monitor class functionality and report issues affecting implementation.
- Assist in distribution of learning materials and vocational toolkits.
- Support organization of trainings, meetings, and community events.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
- Conduct regular field visits to SDL classes and project sites.
- Collect and submit monitoring data, photos, attendance records, and success stories.
- Report challenges, risks, and community feedback to the Project Manager.
- Support joint monitoring visits with UNESCO and other stakeholders.
Safeguarding and Compliance
- Promote safeguarding, PSEA/SEA-SH principles, and Code of Conduct compliance.
- Ensure community awareness of complaint and feedback mechanisms.
- Immediately report any safeguarding concerns through established channels.
