Summary of Assigned duties:
The incumbent will perform the following duties:
- To support the selection process of FLWs
- To develop micro-plan of the area
- To conduct the trainings for all FLWs levels (DCs, CSs, volunteers, ICMs and PCMs)
- To monitor the SIAs and active surveillance activities
- To monitor the RI activities
- To play active role in improving the coordination among partners
- To report his/her activities regularly to the supervisor
- To provide feedback to the FLWs on their activities
- To attend the meetings of the partners at his/her level
- To keep record and documents properly
Main TORs of District Polio Officer:
Under the direct supervision of the WHO Provincial Polio Officer/Medical Officer, Regional TL, Polio TL/AFG, and the overall supervision of the WHO Representative, the District Polio Officer will undertake the following duties:
- Assist MoPH/PEI stakeholders in volunteer selection, training, micro-planning, supervision and monitoring of SIAs/CVAs.
- Negotiate access through local channels and ensure all targeted population is reached for SIA/PEI activities in the assigned area.
- Strengthen coordination on PEI activities through regular meetings of various partners at district level.
- Facilitate selection of supervisors and volunteers.
- Facilitate trainings of Cluster Supervisors and volunteers.
- Supervise and Monitor PEI activities in the assigned district.
- Carry out basic AFP surveillance sensitization of the reporting volunteer network in the assigned district as directed by the supervisors/regional team.
- Submit monthly plan and report to Provincial Polio Officer.
- Assist in strengthening routine EPI in the assigned district.
- Assist implementing partners in training, micro-planning, supervision and monitoring of routine EPI in his/her assigned areas.
- Assist MoPH/implementing partners on Vaccine Preventable Disease Surveillance and reporting AEFI.
- Assist the Provincial Polio Officer/Medical Officer on any other related tasks assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree/Medical doctor would be preferred

Educations:
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in any field preferably medicine or related
Desirable: Bachelor of medicine.
Experience:
Essential: 1-3 years of related experience in public health.
Desirable: Relevant experience in the UN and NGO system
Languages: Very good knowledge of English and the local languages (Dari and Pashtu).
IT Skills:
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Power point).
