EQUALITY for Peace and Development Organization (EPDO) is a women’s rights Afghan non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 2010 to empower women and youth at the community and policy level in Afghanistan. EPDO envisions Afghanistan as a peaceful, prosperous, and welfare state where all Afghans enjoy equal rights without discrimination. Therefore, EPDO aims to increase the capacity of vulnerable groups, especially women and youth, to enable them to represent their needs in all aspects of development. EPDO focuses on various spectrums of peace, security, livelihood, and development in Afghanistan - ranging from the salient need for humanitarian assistance, economic empowerment, and continuous development processes, to long-term projects for sustainable peace.

Job Descriptions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Provincial Coordinator is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling project activities; managing the existing resources; communicating with donors/stakeholders whenever delegated by the Project Manager; consolidating reports; and submitting them to the Project Manager.

  • The Provincial coordinator acts as the focal point for the UN Women's project related activities and is responsible for proper coordination among all concerned stakeholders at district and provincial levels.
  • Develop a detailed provincial-level action plan and ensure the timely completion of defined targets.
  • Responsible for continues coordination of project staff, stockholders, beneficiaries, local community and oversees correct and on time implementation of all components of the project;
  • Ensure effective results-based management of the project in compliance with integrated UN Women strategy and donor policies & procedures;
  • Support and follow-up on the implementation of program activities in accordance with proposed activities and with the project manager's instruction;
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation of the program ensuring achievements of program indicators;
  • Ensure that operation continues smoothly and desired milestones are met per the work plans.
  • Work closely with the project manager, program department, and stakeholders to achieve the project objectives;
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with project staff;
  • Undertake staff and financial management of the project at the provincial level
  • Lead planning and guide the project's staff in effective implementation of the project activities the target districts and province.
  • Represent EPDO and ensure active participation in all provincial related meetings.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor .

 

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in project management and business administration, Master degree in the relevant field is preferred;
  • At least five to seven years of experience in project management; experience working with national and international NGOs will be an preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing projects.
  • Proven skills in public awareness raising, outreach, trainings and advocacy events.
  • Ability to think strategically and to act in the best interests of EPDO and donor;
  • Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, and listening.
  • Fluency in Pashto, Dari and English.
  • Good computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Internet.
  • Strong sense of adaptability and ability to efficiently work and live in a stressed and unstable environment
