The Liaison and Communication Coordinator is responsible for leading liaison, coordination, and communication efforts to support the effective implementation of project activities. The position establishes and maintains strong relationships with government authorities, donors, UN agencies, implementing partners, communities, and other stakeholders, serving as the primary focal point for external coordination and organizational representation. The Coordinator facilitates information sharing, stakeholder engagement, official correspondence, meetings, and communication activities, while supporting project visibility in line with donor branding requirements. The role also develops and delivers training to staff on access, communication procedures, and government regulations, provides technical support to field offices, monitors developments affecting project implementation, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, communication protocols, safeguarding standards, and donor requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government authorities, UN agencies, donors, implementing partners, community representatives, and other key stakeholders.
· Serve as the primary focal point for external liaison and coordination related to project implementation.
· Represent the organization at coordination meetings, technical working groups, and stakeholder forums, and ensure timely follow-up on agreed action points.
· Facilitate effective communication and information sharing between project teams, management, and external stakeholders.
· Support the development and implementation of stakeholder engagement and communication plans.
· Coordinate official correspondence, meetings, visits, and events with government counterparts, donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
· Prepare meeting agendas, briefing notes, presentations, minutes, and follow-up reports.
· Support the preparation and dissemination of communication and visibility materials, including success stories, newsletters, fact sheets, and project updates, in line with donor and organizational branding guidelines.
· Monitor developments relevant to project implementation and keep management informed of emerging issues, risks, and opportunities.
· Strengthen partnerships and promote collaboration to support effective project implementation and organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, communication protocols, donor visibility requirements, and safeguarding standards.
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder engagement, coordination activities, and official communications.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for WCC field staff on access and communication procedures, government regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Frequently travel to area offices to provide support on access and communication-related matters and engage with local authorities.
- Ensure program teams understand and adhere to government regulations affecting program delivery.
- Participate in inception meetings to align communication and visibility planning with program implementation strategies.
- Ensure all correspondence with government entities aligns with WCC policies, maintaining organized records of approvals, agreements, and communications.
