Job Summary
A Solar Power Plant Technician is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, fault finding, and repair of a completed 1160kW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant to ensure maximum energy generation, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities
Periodic Responsibilities
1. To operate and maintain all electrical, mechanical, and monitoring systems of the solar power plant and quickly respond to faults and breakdowns.
2. Check the Solar PV Module performance, check the inverter operation, check the grade parameters, check string current, check DC & AC voltage, check the daily energy generation and power factor, check the Power management alarms.
3. Inspect the broken solar modules, inspect the cracked glass, inspect the loss. connection of cables, clean the modules, replace the damaged PV panels if they exist.
4. Inspect the inverter alarms, inspect the cooling fans, filters, DC & AC output voltage, clean the fan, filters of inverter.
5. Inspect the switchgear circuit breakers, isolator, MCCB, ACB & inspect the protection relay; check for overheating and loose connection.
6. Check and inspect the DC/AC cable for any loose connection or damage; check and inspect the earthling cable for any loose connection or damage.
7. Tighten electrical connections, cable inspection, junction box inspection, and inspect all plant visually & record the generation in the logbook.
8. Servicing Inverter; inspect the transformer cable input and output connection & protection relay inspection.
9. Clean the HT Panel; check and inspect the dry-type PV panels cleaning and wet type washing system.
10. Check the weather station function and make sure that the weather station system is active and working and giving the real Data.
11. Prepare the PV panel daily generation report, breakdown report, safety check list report, spare parts register and usage report, incident & monthly solar power generation performance report as Well.
12. A solar technician should be responsible for plant operation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, fault finding in the system, breakdown repair, inverter maintenance, transformer maintenance, Power management system (SCADA), safety compliance & reporting with documentation.
