Position Overview:

The Female Medical Doctor will deliver confidential and survivor-centered health services to women and girls attending the Psychosocial Counselling Centers.

The position will provide basic health consultations, reproductive health counselling, referral services, health awareness sessions, and contribute to integrated service delivery together with psychosocial staff.

 

Duties & Responsibilities of Female Medical Doctor:

 

Under the general guidance of ACDEO’s Country Representative and Project Manager the Female Medical Doctor (Gynecologist) will perform the following substantive duties and responsibilities:

A. Clinical and Health Service Delivery

·       Conduct basic health consultations and examinations for women and girls.
Provide reproductive, maternal, and women's health information and guidance.

·       Conduct preliminary health assessments, screening, and triage of beneficiaries.

·       Conduct basic screening for antenatal and postnatal depression and refer beneficiaries requiring additional psychosocial support.

·       Support the early identification of health concerns requiring referral to specialized health services.

·       Provide basic counselling on reproductive health, menstrual health, maternal wellbeing, and healthy practices.

·       Maintain a safe, confidential, and respectful environment for all beneficiaries.

B. Referral and Case Coordination

·       Refer beneficiaries requiring specialized medical or psychosocial services to appropriate service providers.

·       Follow established referral pathways and protocols.

·       Coordinate with relevant service providers to support continuity of care.

·       Maintain accurate referral records and follow-up documentation where appropriate.

C. Health Awareness and Education

Conduct individual and group awareness sessions on:

·       Reproductive health

·       Maternal and newborn health

·       Menstrual health and hygiene

·       Personal hygiene and infection prevention

·       Nutrition and healthy practices

·       Preventive healthcare and health-seeking behaviors

·       Support the development and review of health education and IEC materials.

D. Documentation and Reporting

·       Maintain accurate consultation, referral, and service records.

·       Ensure proper documentation in accordance with ACDEO policies and donor requirements.

·       Support project monitoring, data collection, and reporting requirements.

·       Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and other periodic reports as required.

E. Safeguarding and Compliance

·       Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and informed consent practices at all times.

·       Apply survivor-centered and beneficiary-centered approaches in service delivery.

·       Report safeguarding concerns in accordance with ACDEO safeguarding policies and procedures.

·       Comply with medical ethics, professional standards, and organizational policies.

·       Participate in relevant trainings, supervision sessions, and quality assurance activities.

Job Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

·       Medical Doctor (MD) degree with specialization in Gynecology from a recognized university.

·       Valid professional registration or license to practice, where applicable.

·       Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in gynecology, reproductive health, and maternal health services.

·       Experience conducting consultations, health assessments, screening, and referrals for women and girls.

·       Experience maintaining medical records and preparing routine reports.

Preferred

·       Experience working with NGOs, humanitarian organizations, or community-based health programs.

·       Experience working on donor-funded projects, including projects supported by UN agencies.

·       Experience in maternal, reproductive, and women's health programming.

·       Knowledge of health referral pathways and community health services.

·       Experience conducting community awareness sessions and health education activities.

Technical Skills

·       Clinical assessment and diagnosis.

·       Reproductive, maternal, and women's health counselling.

·       Antenatal and postnatal health screening, including maternal wellbeing assessments.

·       Referral and case management.

·       Medical documentation and reporting.
