Job Summary:

The Data Manager (Supply Chain) will oversee data systems for health supply chains, ensuring accurate tracking of medical commodities (e.g., pharmaceuticals, vaccines, PPE) from procurement to last-mile delivery. This role is critical in supporting health programs by optimizing inventory, reducing stockouts/expiries, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, WHO-GDP, Gavi requirements). The ideal candidate combines expertise in supply chain data analytics with knowledge of public health systems.Compare progress against project goals and create action plans to stay on track.

    • Give clear, useful feedback on monthly HMIS reports to health facilities.
    • Ensure supply chain data is correctly recorded in mSupply and Excel.
    • Update key project numbers (metrics) regularly and check if targets are being met.
    • Present monthly updates to sub-office teams, pointing out data errors, challenges, and ways to improve.
    • Make sure health facilities have the right HMIS forms and supplies.
    • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve data quality.
    • Prepare reports on stock levels, shortages, orders, and medicine usage.
    • Design dashboards and visual tools to make reporting easier.
    • Analyze data to help guide program decisions.
    • Manage supply chain data systems, including user access, backups, and fixing technical issues.
    • Help connect warehouse and health facility data systems.
    • Work with M&E teams to align data systems.
    • Train logistics, warehouse, pharmacy, and health facility staff on proper data entry, reporting rules, and how to use data effectively.
    • Coach field teams on understanding supply chain data and using it for decision-making.
    • Ensure reports are accurate and submitted on time to donors and stakeholders.
    • Implement data governance policies and best practices for supply chain data
    • Develop dashboards to track key health supply chain metrics:
    • Stockout rates, expiry rates, wastage, and days of stock remaining.
    • Vaccine/commodity coverage rates, last-mile delivery timelines.
    • Analyze data to predict demand surges (e.g., epidemics, seasonal outbreaks) and optimize redistribution.
    • Reduce vaccine/medication wastage through expiry forecasting
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Public Health Informatics, Data Science, Supply Chain Management.
  • 10 years in health supply chain data management (e.g., pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical devices).
  • Ability to work with government health agencies, donors, and NGOs 
  • Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified in Supply Chain Management (CSCM) – Health Sector Focus
  • WHO-GDP/GMP Training
