Job Descriptions:

Responsibilities

Community Engagement 

The Trainer (Community Based) will conduct regular engagement sessions with male community members, elders, and local influencers to build support for the project’s objectives. These sessions aim to increase awareness of the benefits of women's economic participation and reduce resistance to VSLA and MSME initiatives. 

Advocacy and Sensitization 

Responsible for disseminating key project messages tailored to male audiences, addressing misconceptions, and fostering inclusive attitudes. The agent will also support local advocacy efforts aimed at creating an enabling environment for women’s empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. 

Monitoring and Feedback Collection 

Collects feedback from male stakeholders about community perceptions, social dynamics, and potential risks to women’s participation. Reports key findings to the project team and contributes to the development of mitigation strategies. 

Capacity Awareness 

Supports informal learning among male beneficiaries regarding topics such as financial inclusion, family support for women’s entrepreneurship, and shared household economic responsibilities. 

Integrity, Compliance & Representation 

Always Upholds Cordaid’s Code of Conduct and integrity policies. Maintains respectful and professional interactions, ensuring representation of project values in community outreach. Participates in integrity and gender-sensitivity trainings to strengthen inclusive practices. 

Other Duties 

Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Project Manager related to male engagement, community support, and social cohesion. 

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences 

Education: Diploma or bachelor's degree in social sciences, community development, education, or related fields. 

Experience:  

  • With bachelor, minimum of 2 and with diploma minimum 4 years of experience in community mobilization, men’s engagement, peacebuilding, or gender-sensitization work. 
  • Prior experience in programs focused on gender inclusion or livelihoods is an asset. 

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with male stakeholders and community leaders. 
  • Ability to manage sensitive conversations around gender and social change with diplomacy and respect. 
  • Familiarity with cultural norms and local dynamics affecting male engagement. 
  • Proactive in conflict resolution, advocacy, and awareness-raising efforts. 
  • Ability to travel to remote communities regularly. 
  • Fluent in local languages (Dari and/or Pashto); working knowledge of English is an advantage.
