About AYSO:

Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with registration No:397.AYSO since came into being has developed, successfully implemented, and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health, educational, Food Security,  Capacity building, GBV Prevention and Response, Peace, Justice Research, and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP,UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO, AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID, FHI, BARC, AADA,HEWAD, and other National and International Organization.

Job Descriptions:

Scope of Work:

The Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning, monitoring and supervision, coordination, and reporting. This role includes managing and implementing nutrition projects, delivering training, and ensuring that all activities align with AYSO, MoPH, and donor requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the implementation of project activities, including planning, monitoring, supervision, coordination, achievement of deliverables, and reporting.
  • Develop a detailed project operation plan and support project staff in effective planning and implementation.
  • Coordinate project activities at the head office level, encompassing technical, financial, and logistic aspects, to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Project Manager, PPHD, and donors to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
  • Supervise and provide support to health facility staff involved in RMNCAH projects.
  • Compile project reports and deliverables in line with AYSO, MoPH, and donor requirements, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for submission.
  • Oversee technical activities and offer necessary recommendations to improve project outcomes.
  • Conduct field monitoring and supervision to ensure the delivery of quality services.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills in English, Dari, and Pashto.
  • Exhibit strong report writing skills and contribute to the development of proposals.
  • Actively participate in training sessions for community-based nutrition programs and monitor the progress of these activities.
  • Ensure that training tools are updated, including the latest validated versions provided by MoPH, particularly for the RMNCAH Project.
  • Resolve conflicts among staff when necessary.
  • Perform risk analysis for overall project operations and report findings to the Lead Project Manager.
  • Participate in project-related meetings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Ensure that the Organization’s policies, guidelines, procedures, and manuals regarding projects and staff are implemented effectively.
Job Requirements:

The Project Manager must hold an MD degree along with relevant short- and mid-term courses in public health. The candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of RMNCAH SOPs/guidelines and UNFPA policies, coupled with at least eight years of working experience in the fields of health and nutrition. Strong knowledge of management principles, donor requirements, report writing, and coordination skills is essential.
