Job Descriptions:

Main duties and responsibilities:

The Disability Inclusion / Livelihoods Officer is responsible for promoting disability-inclusive programming and implementing livelihood interventions that enhance the social and economic resilience of persons.

  •  Lead disability inclusion initiatives by identifying, assessing, and supporting persons with disabilities, while     ensuring accessibility, reasonable accommodation, and meaningful participation across project activities.
  • Design and implement inclusive livelihood and vocational skills training, support entrepreneurship, business planning, financial literacy, and facilitate access to employment, self-employment, and market opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Disabled Persons' Organizations (DPOs), government authorities, service providers, employers, vocational training centers, and other stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and promote inclusive services.
  • Mobilize communities and facilitate awareness sessions, community dialogues, and engagement activities to promote disability rights, social cohesion, and inclusive community development.
  • Monitor project implementation by maintaining beneficiary records, conducting assessments, tracking progress, collecting data, and documenting success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Prepare timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, and donor reports, and support monitoring, evaluation, surveys, field visits, and other learning activities to ensure quality project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, safeguarding standards, PSEA, Child Safeguarding, Gender Equality, and the Code of Conduct while working closely with the Project Manager and project team.
Job Requirements:

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation Sciences, or a related field. 
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in designing or delivering livelihood skills training for persons with disabilities.
  • Experience implementing disability-inclusive livelihood or community development projects with NGOs is preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating with Disabled Persons' Organizations (DPOs), government institutions, and community stakeholders is an asset. 

Languages

  • Fluency in Pashto and Dari is required.
  • Working knowledge of English is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of disability inclusion and livelihood programming.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational, reporting, and computer skills (MS Office).
