Purpose of the Position: The Trainer will deliver practical training and mentoring to women-owned and women-led businesses on access to finance, financial literacy, bookkeeping, budgeting, cash flow management, pricing, cost calculation, and preparation of basic financial records for business growth and financing opportunities.
Main Training and Mentoring Areas
· Available financial products and financing options for small businesses.
· Loan application processes and common bank/MFI requirements.
· Basic financial literacy, bookkeeping, budgeting, and cash flow management.
· Cost calculation, pricing, financial projections, and simple financial records.
· Preparation for finance applications and business growth planning.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, review, and adapt training materials related to access to finance and financial management.
· Prepare session plans, agendas, exercises, case examples, and practical financial templates.
· Deliver interactive and practical training sessions to women entrepreneurs.
· Facilitate hands-on exercises on bookkeeping, budgeting, cash flow, cost calculation, pricing, and simple financial projections.
· Conduct pre- and post-training assessments, where required.
· Provide practical templates and tools, including bookkeeping sheets, budget formats, cash flow templates, pricing worksheets, and loan application checklists.
· Provide follow-up mentoring/coaching to selected participants on financial record keeping, business finance readiness, and access-to-finance planning.
· Support participants in applying financial management practices to their own businesses.
· Document participant progress, key challenges, and success stories, where applicable.
· Coordinate with ACE/PPC Ecosystem project staff on logistics, attendance, documentation, and reporting.
· Prepare brief training and mentoring reports, including observations, participant feedback, challenges, and recommendations.
· Ensure all sessions are respectful, inclusive, culturally appropriate, and gender-sensitive.
Expected Deliverables
· Training agenda and session plan.
· Final/adapted training materials on access to finance and financial management.
· Practical templates/tools, such as bookkeeping template, budget sheet, cash flow template, pricing worksheet, financial projection template, and loan readiness checklist.
· Pre- and post-test tools, where required.
· Participant attendance lists.
· Training completion report.
· Mentoring/coaching session notes and participant progress updates.
· Photos/videos and other training evidence, as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, Development Studies, or another relevant field. Master’s degree is preferred.
· Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial management, access to finance, banking/MFI services, MSME support, entrepreneurship support, business development, or business mentoring/coaching.
· Proven experience delivering training and/or coaching to women entrepreneurs, MSMEs, private sector actors, or business groups.
· Strong knowledge of financial literacy, bookkeeping, budgeting, cash flow, pricing, loan application processes, and MFI/banking requirements.
· Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto is required; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
· Ability to travel to target provinces, if required.
Previous experience with UN agencies, NGOs, consulting firms, or donor-funded projects is an advantage.
