GWO Background:
Green Way Organization (GWO) is a women-led national non-profit NGO established in 2006 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan (Registration No. 312). The organization is committed to empowering vulnerable communities, with a focus on women, children, youth, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and returnees. GWO’s leadership reflects this commitment, with women holding the majority of management positions and a staff composition of approximately 66% female and 34% male employees.
GWO delivers targeted interventions across a wide range of thematic areas, including health, nutrition, psychosocial support, and community awareness, as well as women’s empowerment, education, livelihoods, agriculture, environment, climate change, WASH, protection, community development, and humanitarian response. These programs aim to address urgent needs, enhance resilience, and promote sustainable development in marginalized and underserved communities throughout Afghanistan.
