Job Descriptions:

ROLE PURPOSE: 
The capacity building officer is responsible for planning, coordination, and delivering high quality capacity building initiatives for TLS/ECCD teachers, parents/caregivers, and school management shuras. 
The role holder ensures the necessary competencies, pedagogical skills, and child-centered approaches to deliver safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children.

She/he is accountable to carry out the following key role and responsibilities but not limited to:
1.    Conduct capacity need assessments for TLS/ECCD/ teachers, community educators and implementing partner’s staff.
2.    Develop training plans, curricula, training handout, and teaching-learning material aligned with the TLS/ECCD standards and project objectives.
3.    Facilitate training sessions on TLS/ECCD methodologies, classroom management, early stimulation, child protection, inclusive education, and positive parenting.
4.    Provide orientation to project staff and partners on TLS/ECCD frameworks, child development and quality assurance standards.
5.    Conduct regular field visits to TLS/ECCD centers for coaching, mentoring, and observing/providing support to teachers.
6.    Demonstrate interactive and play-based teaching techniques during coaching sessions.
7.    Document best practices and success stories to promote improved pedagogy.
8.    Monitor the implementation of TLS/ECCD activities and ensure adherence to project objectives, safeguarding, inclusion, and child-centered progress.
9.    Maintain records of training attendance, coaching reports, and capacity building progress.
10.    Support data collection for MEAL activities and ensure IPTTs and EMIS are updated to and shared monthly to MEAL department.
11.    Conduct training evaluation including pre- and post-tests, and narrative report.
12.    Support community engagement activities to strengthen positive parenting.
13.    Support procurement planning for training materials and supplies.
14.    Ensure localization of content with consideration to language, culture, protection risks, and accessibility. 
15.    Ensures adherence to child safeguarding and PSEA standards in all capacity building activities/field visits.
16.    Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the designated focal point
17.    Review implementing partner organization’s monthly project progress and financial expenses report.
18.    Conduct BI-Weekly meeting with implementing partners and ensure the project progresses.
19.    Any additional task as per office requirement or by line manager.

•    good interpersonal and communication skills  
•    Good team interaction and positive attitude 
•    Familiar with Word, Excel, and other relevant programs  
Excellent communication skills in English, alongside varied local language skills are preferred (Pashto, Dari). 
Additional job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities set out above are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time which are reasonable in relation to their level of skills and experience.

In the event of a significant humanitarian emergency, the post-holder will be expected to work outside their normal job description; vary their working hours; and occasionally work from a different location should the need arise.
