Job Descriptions:

The Provincial Manager is responsible for leading the project implementation at the provincial level in [Balkh, Jowzjan, Saripul, Faryab, Kandhar, Zabul, Badgis & Ghor]. This role involves managing staff, overseeing project activities, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational standards, and coordinating closely with local authorities and communities. The Provincial Manager will ensure that all project interventions are implemented effectively, efficiently, and in line with the project's objectives

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure the successful implementation of project activities within the province, in line with project work plans, objectives, and timelines.
  • Lead and manage the provincial project team, including technical, operational and field staff. Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, and capacity building.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly implementation plans and ensure timely submission of accurate narrative and financial reports to the national office.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with provincial government authorities, local councils (CRG/CDCs), and community leaders.
  • Support data collection, activity tracking, and performance monitoring in coordination with the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) team.
  • Oversee provincial budget lines and ensure efficient use of resources. Monitor expenditures and support procurement and logistics in accordance with policies.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with donor requirements, organizational policies, and relevant government regulations.
  • Promote a conflict-sensitive and inclusive approaches. Ensure adherence to safeguarding principles, gender equality, and community participation.
  • Monitor the local context and ensure staff safety, reporting any incidents or risks to the national management team
  • Any other duties as and when assigned by the line manager, Managing Director and/or Directorate.
Job Requirements:

Education & Professional Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in administration or another relevant area or equivalent professional experience.

Work Experience

At least 5 years’ experience in Community Driven Development projects, and familiar with community base implementation, coordination with CDCs and other stakeholders

  • Familiarity with community-led, participatory, gender-sensitive, and inclusive programming approaches
  • Training and capacity building skills in participatory monitoring methods
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills able to distil key ideas with clarity and precision.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to work with significant levels of autonomy, manage personal priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, with the ability to effectively work in a team.
  • Fluency in written English and demonstrated ability to write and lay out high-quality documents.
  • Fluency in English, Pashto and Dari, both written and spoken
  • Honest, proactive, and well mannered.     
  • Sensitivity to Islamic culture.
  • Commitment to support/develop the capacity of the national staff and of rural communities.
