Rupani Development Initiative (RDI) is looking for experienced professionals for its upcoming Microfinance Institution (MFI) in Afghanistan. The positions aim to build a strong management team to ensure effective operations, financial sustainability, and impactful service delivery.
General Responsibilities:
The CFO will be responsible for the institution’s overall financial health, ensuring effective financial planning, transparency, and compliance with national and international accounting standards. This role will also oversee budgeting, internal controls, audits, and Sharia-compliant finance operations if offered by the MFI.
Specific Duties:

Manage financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure AAMS’s resources are effectively utilized in line with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.

Ensure accurate accounting and timely audits by maintaining transparent financial systems and liaising with external auditors.

Monitor financial risks, internal controls, and regulatory compliance to safeguard organizational assets and promote accountability.

Oversee Sharia-compliant financial products (Islamic banking) if offered by the MFI, ensuring they meet both financial and Sharia standards.

Prepare financial forecasts, variance analyses, and strategic recommendations for management and board decisions.

Supervise finance teams, build staff capacity, and ensure adherence to international accounting standards.

Coordinate with the CEO and Operations Manager to align financial strategy with institutional objectives.
