General Responsibilities
• Develop short-term (weekly/monthly) and long-term implementation plans aligned with the annual project work plan and in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Lead coordination across thematic sectors (Child Protection, Education, WASH, Health) to ensure integrated and effective response for returnees.
• Represent Save the Children in relevant coordination platforms, including border response meetings with stakeholders and local authorities.
• Monitor border dynamics and lead rapid response planning and implementation.
• Ensure timely and quality reporting, documentation, and data management across all thematic areas.
• Coordinate with MEAL and other departments to ensure quality and accountability in implementation.
1. Child Protection (CP)
• Coordinate cross-sectoral planning and implementation of CP activities, capacity building, and service mapping.
• Design and deliver orientation sessions and training courses based on staff needs, including CPiE, PFA, positive discipline, and safe identification and referrals.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to staff and facilitators on CP themes and project management. And provide timely report and maintain proper documentation.
• Supervise case management processes, including case conferences, monitoring, and coaching.
• Facilitate monitoring and response to child protection concerns and feedback received through FRM.
• Develop case studies to capture project successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Maintain secure and confidential filing systems for CP documentation.
• Report child safeguarding concerns in line with SCI’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Lead the returnee response team in protection-related interventions.
2. Education
• Ensure implementation of educational activities in line with the CCLS manual, covering (Self-awareness and empowerment, Positive social skills, Literacy and numeracy skills, Life-saving learning)
• Facilitate distribution of educational materials and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain and update databases on returnee children’s educational status and participation.
3. WASH
• Plan, implement, and monitor WASH awareness activities.
• Participate in project evaluations and assessments to measure impact and effectiveness.
4. Health
• Support the Health and Nutrition Coordinator in daily implementation of border response activities.
• Collect and compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports from health facilities.
• Coordinate with procurement and HR teams to ensure timely recruitment and procurement for health-related activities.
• Monitor health interventions and ensure timely delivery of supplies in coordination with the supply chain team.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A relevant bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social sciences or a closely related field.
Desirable
Master’s degree in the humanitarian or returnees’ response.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLs:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in child protection or related sectors (Education, WASH, Health). Or in emergency response
• Strong community engagement and coordination skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in Pashto/Dari; proficient in English (especially for reporting).
• Skilled in conducting meetings, training, and team management.
• Proficient in MS Office and internet usage.
• Willingness to travel to districts and provinces as needed.
