About TLO:

The Liaison Office (TLO) founded in 2003 as an Afghan non-governmental organization (NGO) that emerged from a Swisspeace pilot project (supported by the Heinrich Böll Stiftung) with the aim of improving local governance, stability, and security through systematic and institutionalized engagement with customary structures, local communities, civil society groups, and government institutions. TLO is based in Kabul, with regional offices in Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Herat, Ghazni, Farah, Samangan, Balkh, Nangarhar, Maidan wardak and Baghlan and additional field offices across Afghanistan. TLO works to achieve its objectives through key program activities: research and analysis, dialogue facilitation for peacebuilding, access to justice and governance, humanitarian assistance, third party monitoring and evaluation, and environment & natural resources management.

Job Descriptions:

Purpose of the Role

The Communication & Advocacy Officer will lead advocacy and communication efforts for Thrive Afghanistan 2.0. She will directly manage female students, track their attendance, and activities and work closely with program team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the team in planning and implementing project activities and day-to-day activities in coordination with the program team.
  • Regularly communicate with the identified target group to provide information on the course schedule, date, and time
  • Document and write success stories, reports, and human-interest pieces showcasing female participants.
  • Monitor and track the progress of the enrolled participants in the online course;
  • Manage and track the attendance, progress, and activities of female students.
  • Support female students in accessing mentoring, webinars, and job fairs.
  • Prepare quarterly advocacy and communication reports, including student updates.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Maintain regular channels of communication with program participants and update the management on the progress
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of the project
  • Working closely with the program beneficiary and coordinating the training schedule;
  • Report to the Project Manager on all updates regarding the projects progress.
Job Requirements:
  • School graduate. Bachelor’s degree is Preferred.
  • Relevant experience with NGOs
  • Preference will be given to Thrive-Afghanistan alumni
  • Good writing and speaking skills in English and national languages.
  • Strong organizational and networking skills.
