Job Description:
Manage ordering, proper stocking, rational use of drugs, recording and issuing the medications, medical materials and medical equipment and provide advice for medical stocks and also Train MDS, RUD in monthly supervision of health facilities in province and he will work under the direct supervision of Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage logistics operations including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of medicines and medical or non medical equipment.
- Supervise and monitor all medicine and medical supply-related activities across the project in the assigned province.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual action plan for supervising field-level pharmaceutical and logistics activities according to the project work plan.
- Ensure the availability of standard lists of medicines, medical materials, and equipment to prevent stockouts.
- Receive and verify all medicine supplies and medical equipment for quality, quantity, and accuracy.
- Ensure proper, safe, clean, and organized storage of all medicines and medical supplies in the warehouse according to safety standards.
- Set up and maintain a computerized inventory management system alongside manual stock cards for quick, easy, and accurate stock registration.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all medical stocks in the warehouse and ensure timely restocking and issuance based on needs.
- Prepare and place medical orders according to the actual needs of health facilities and available resources.
- Identify, estimate, and forecast drug requirements, and maintain buffer stocks to balance supply and demand.
- Monitor the quality, expiry dates, and storage conditions of all medicines and medical supplies; ensure the application of FIFO and FEFO principles.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols, norms, and national pharmaceutical standards.
- Conduct regular supervision and monitoring of health facilities' pharmaceutical activities, providing on-the-job training where necessary.
- Assist in capacity-building activities, including the training of pharmacists and pharmacy staff in health facilities.
- Report expired, damaged, or poor-quality medicines on time and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed.
- Act as a communication link between the field office and health facilities, conveying essential instructions and updates.
- Submit regular reports, including monthly medicine receipt and issue reports, and health facility consumption summaries.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with donor and organizational guidelines in all logistics and pharmacy operations.
Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the supervisor or project manager.
