Job Descriptions:

The incumbent of the position is responsible to develop and implement deposit mobilizations plans and strategies. The position shall be responsible for managing and supervising deposit liability team for growing the deposit base of the bank. All the budgeting, planning and analysis of the deposit liability shall be the responsibility of this position. He/She shall ensure that deposit portfolio delivers to both customer needs and overall organization goals, he/she shall work closely with product development team and marketing team for CASA products and other services that help growth of CASA deposits, the incumbent of the position shall also work with human capital and training department to consistently build capacity of Relationship Officers who are responsible to mobilize deposits and also review incentive schemes for the deposit liability team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement deposit strategy and plan for the bank.
  • Monitoring and tracking retail liabilities portfolio performance against business plans and budgets.
  • Manage and supervise deposit liability team across all branches.
  • Work closely with RMs and BMs to engage Branch Management for deposit mobilizations.
  • Maintain and monitor deposit pricing internally and externally that of competitors on regular basis.
  • Work with Human Capital and Training department for planning and implementing capacity building programs for the deposit mobilization team of Relationship Officers.
  • Achieve assigned targets for self and team with focus on current accounts and working very closely with the Regional Manager.
  • Report the deposit portfolio performance against assigned targets for self and team.
  • Manage deposit attrition and maintain deposit growth on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Visit high net worth customers on regular basis to ensure that relationship is maintained and conduct presentations of new deposits schemes to existing customers and to new potential customers.
  • Identify, hire and develop suitable candidates in the team for succession planning.
  • Review and Monitor deposit targets of region and branches with Branch Managers and Regional Managers on regular basis.
  • Ensures high quality service and Customer relationship management in all branches.
  • Review and recommend changes to existing CASA products to improve specifications and performance.
  • Responsible to design, recommend, develop and implement new competitive deposit schemes with product development team.
  • Liaise with Treasury and propose to ALCO new competitive interest-bearing deposit products.
  • Analyze data and do market assessments for deposit mobilizations along with marketing team.
  • Actively participate in bidding process for large deposits from government institutions including bulk payroll processing.
  • Work with IT team to ensure that deposit liability team are able to generate specific MIS reports required to make business decisions and are aware of their targets.
  • Work with BSM team to carry out customer satisfaction surveys to identify the scope for improvements of CASA product quality and know the market.
  • Maintain an awareness of development in fields of deposits products marketing and research to ensure that the bank continues to compete effectively.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Economic or related to the field.
  • 5 years of experiences of sales and relationship management, preferably in CASA deposit mobilization.
  • Having knowledge of various core banking systems and AML/CFT regulations.
  • High level proficiency in spoken and written English, good command of the predominant local languages.
  • Good command on MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
