The Federal Headquarters are based in Berlin, Germany. Johanniter International Assistance is the operational unit for humanitarian aid, development co-operation and emergency relief, implementing and supporting mostly health projects worldwide.

 

Johanniter is working is Afghanistan since October 2002 providing emergency aid, rehabilitation of health facilities, medical care and capacity building for community health workers, students, teachers and professionals of NGOs and government agencies in disaster preparedness and first aid skills. Johanniter’s country office is located in Kabul and has operational coverage in the North, Northeastern and central region with possibility of expansion in the South and Western provinces of Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:
  1. Supervising health facilities on regular base.
  2. Improving family planning programs and maintaining a sound mechanism of distributing contraceptives to the health facilities.
  3. Checking, analysing RH and HMIS activities on monthly basis.
  4. Providing monthly report of MCH activities all JUH, PHS health facilities.
  5. Preventing neonatal and maternal morbidity and mortality by providing clean delivery kits and avoiding complications by establishing a referral system.
  6. Improving safe mother-hood by giving on job training and conducting refresher training courses.
  7. Improving management and recording of infertility.
  8. Creating awareness sessions for the people regarding the TT vaccine.
  9. Planning the provision of comprehensive reproductive health services integrated in to primary health care.
  10. Immediate identification and reporting of any problems which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to his/her immediate supervisor.
  11. Participating in MoPH RH taskforces and other working groups.
  12. Performing other duty assigned by immediate supervisor (Health Program Manager).
  13. Improving skills of staff and raising awareness in people regarding early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
  14. Raising awareness of mothers on breast-feeding, weaning food, EPI and malnutrition through health education sessions.
  15. Raising awareness of people regarding RTI /STDs and improving skills of staff on how to Manage RTI, STDs and prevention of HIV/aids.
  16. Improving management of menopause and pre menopause.
Job Requirements:

Education:

MD Degree from a recognized medical University.

Experience:

Three years of relevant experience at a similar position.

Language Professions:

Proficiency in English and Dari or Pashto is required.
