· Explain the finger-prick process clearly to the parents and obtain consent.
· Registration of the eligible people in the DBS register.
· Use sterile lancets to perform finger pricks.
· Accurately drop the required volume of blood onto designated spots on filter paper cards.
· Place the wet cards in drying racks to prevent contamination from dust or moisture.
· Pack dried cards into plastic bags with desiccant packs and humidity indicator cards.
· Correctly, label all samples, store and transport them in the field.
· Proper handover and documentation of the samples to the lab supervisor.
· have good organizational skills and be able to set up a workstation at each household.
· Maintaining strict quality assurance measures in the field.
· Considering the infection prevention and control measures in the filed and during the sample collection.
· Wearing the required PPE during the DBS collection.
· Proper waste management and disposal of the waste to ensure environmental safety.
· Updating stock card and consumption report of the consumables during the DBS collection.
· Reporting of the DBS collection and consumption daily, weekly, and monthly base to the team leader and Lab supervisor.
· Cooperation with graders and recorders and ensure teamwork in field.
· Protection and maintenance of the DBS collection tools to prevent wastage and misuse.
· Other relevant task assigned by the supervisor.
