HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right.

In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:
  • Overall responsible for project management at the provincial level.
  • Develop plans for the community mobilization, coordination and implementation of TIS.
  • Participate in discussions and meetings with WASH implementing NGOs to follow up on WASH interventions, with an emphasis on facial cleanliness practices and environmental improvement.
  • Follow up to ensure that the information, education, and communication activities are effectively implemented prior to the TIS.
  • Engage in discussions with community leaders, religious leaders, and local authorities to support community mobilization/sensitization prior to TIS.
  • Ensure implementation of project activities and achieving the set milestones.
  • Maintain coordination among stakeholders at provincial and district levels.
  • Create an environment for smooth implementation of the project activities at district and village levels.
  • Participate in provincial-level project coordination meetings.
  • Oversee staff recruitment and provide orientation on roles and responsibilities.
  • Support and monitor the project's communication and visibility activities.
  • Ensure the lab supervisors and DBS collectors have daily stock in and out system and report to the provincial office.
  • Oversee distribution of lab supplies from the provincial warehouse to DBS collectors.
  • Manage provincial stock, including supply chain logistics and consumption reporting.
  • Ensure timely supply of lab items, consumable, tetracycline ointment and glassess for the TIS campaign in targeted districts.
  • Ensure the TIS is effectively implemented in the target districts.
  • Promptly report any events to the grant coordinator at the country office, Provincial Public Health Directorate.
  • Manage and control financial aspects of the project.
  • Conduct regular supervision visits to targeted districts and villages and follow up on findings and promptly address the findings.
  • Collect, analyse, and report project activities data consistently.
  • Provide regular feedback on data and monitor progress.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports to the country office.
  • Undertake additional tasks assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:

·       MD degree from an accredited university, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in public health programs.

·       Master’s degree in public health, with 5 years of experience in public health.

·       Fluent in local languages (Pashto and Dari) and proficient in English.

·       Highly skilled in MS Office, internet applications, and data entry.

·       Willingness and able to travel to remote areas and villages within endemic districts for community sensitization and TIS implementation.

·       Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
