Summary
The English–Dari Translator is responsible for providing accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate translation and language support for the organization's internal and external communications. The translator ensures that reports, official documents, website content, social media materials, and other communication products are translated with high quality while maintaining the original meaning, tone, and technical terminology.
The position works closely with program, communication, MEAL, and management teams to ensure timely delivery of translated materials in accordance with organizational standards and donor requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Translate reports, proposals, assessments, and other official documents between English and Dari while preserving accuracy and context.
· Translate website content, news articles, success stories, brochures, and organizational publications.
· Translate content for social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and other digital channels.
· Proofread and edit translated documents to ensure grammatical accuracy, consistency, and readability.
· Review English and Dari documents for language quality and terminology consistency.
· Maintain confidentiality of organizational documents and sensitive information during the translation process.
· Coordinate with program and communication teams to clarify technical terminology and contextual meanings whenever necessary.
· Develop and maintain a glossary of commonly used organizational and humanitarian terms.
· Support interpretation during meetings, workshops, training sessions, and official events whenever required.
· Ensure all translated materials comply with organizational branding, communication standards, and donor requirements.
· Perform any other language-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
