Job Descriptions:

Job Summary

Sigal Medical Laboratory is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to perform a wide range of laboratory tests while ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for specimen collection, laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, quality control, and timely reporting of results in accordance with established laboratory protocols.

 Key Responsibilities

 Operate laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment according to standard operating procedures.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results.
  • Perform routine internal quality control (IQC) and participate in external quality assurance (EQA) programs.
  • Maintain laboratory instruments through routine maintenance and calibration.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment or testing issues to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Follow biosafety, infection prevention, and waste management protocols.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory records.
  • Collaborate effectively with pathologists, laboratory technologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and laboratory training.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock monitoring.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager.

 

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
  • Excellent specimen handling and processing skills.
  • Ability to operate automated laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety and infection control standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).

 Language Requirements

  • Fluent in Dari Pashto & English
  • Fluent English reading and writing skills, particularly for laboratory terminology and documentation.
