Job Descriptions:

Afghan German Bakhtar Railway Road Building Constriction company is seeking a qualified and experienced  Quantity Surveyor / Chief Surveyor The position is for the full duration of the road construction project, including construction, me asurement, certification, and final account preparation stages. The Quantity Surveyor / Chief Surveyor will report directly to the Project Manager / Resident Engineer / Consultant Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and verify the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for all road construction works.
  • Carry out detailed measurement of earthworks, pavement layers, drainage structures, and all other construction items.
  • Certify Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) in coordination with the Project Manager and Consultant.
  • Monitor and control cost variations, quantity tracking, and contract adjustments throughout the project.
  • Lead and supervise the survey team for alignment, setting out, and level control of road works.
  • Ensure accurate quantity calculations and maintain up-to-date measurement records.
  • Prepare detailed quantity, valuation, and cost reports for project progress and financial control.
  • Coordinate with engineers and site staff to ensure proper implementation of design quantities.
  • Assist in preparing variation orders and final accounts.
  • Ensure all measurements and valuations comply with contract requirements and engineering standards.

  • Final account and cost reconciliation reports

 Conditions of Employment

  • Full-time site-based assignment for the project duration
  • Active involvement in both field surveying and office-based quantity analysis
  • Must ensure accuracy and transparency in all measurements and certifications
  • Compliance with contract documents and financial control procedures is mandatory
  • Responsible for maintaining proper documentation of all quantity-related records
  • Subject to periodic performance review by the Project Manager/Consultant
  • Employment may be terminated in case of negligence, inaccuracy, or misconduct

 Skills and Competencies

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying and cost estimation
  • Knowledge of surveying instruments and techniques
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and BOQ systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
  • Good reporting and documentation skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate survey teams
Job Requirements:
  • Education: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in road construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost control, and quantity measurement
  • Experience in interim payment certification and contract administration
  • Proficiency in surveying instruments and field measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with FIDIC or similar construction contract frameworks is an advantage
  • The candidate should be speak And write Pashto, Dari fluent  and English
