About Medica Afghanistan:
Medica Afghanistan is a national, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-sectarian women’s organization dedicated to supporting Afghan women affected by war and various forms of violence. MA’s mission is to empower vulnerable Afghan women by enhancing access to quality education, healthcare, and economic resources. Through compassionate support, sustainable programs, and community-centered solutions, we aim to foster resilience, improve well-being, and uplift the living standards of women across Afghanistan. Our work is dedicated to nurturing self-sufficiency, advocating for gender equality, and creating a brighter, healthier future for all generations.
Medica Afghanistan was established in Kabul in 2010 and registered the same year with the Ministry of Economy as a self-contained national organization, run by Afghan women for Afghan women. Since its inception, Medica Afghanistan has been committed to supporting women and girls across Afghanistan.
For more than twenty years, our team of health professionals, lawyers and human rights advocates were able to assist thousands of traumatized women and girls through a range of services including psychosocial counselling, legal representation, family mediation, social support, literacy education, and referrals for health care, economic opportunities, and other relevant services as needed. Our services are tailored to the evolving needs and conditions of Afghan families, with a particular focus on women and girls.
