Job Descriptions:

Role Purpose:

Under the overall direction of Taloqan regional office Operation Officer, the Cook and Cleaner is responsible to provide meals for expatriate and local staff both in office and guest house.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Prepare food (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the staff in the office and guest house.
Follow up the menu and cook properly balanced diet food as agreed with Mission East.
Ensure that the food is prepared on time and not effect official working hours
Keep proper record of the staff and food items in the Note book
Proper cleaning and maintenance of dishes and other kitchen equipment’s/utensils.
Prepare tea, coffee and water for the staff.
Keep clean and hygienic the kitchen and the dishes.
Report any damage or loss of the kitchen equipment’s.
Purchasing daily food items from bazaar.
Ensure to purchase best quality in reasonable price.
Keep the refrigerator clean and functioning all the time
Making sure that require amount of fuel/gas wood etc. are available for cooking purposes
Any other duty as agreed and assigned by supervisor

Keeping Clean all the office assets such the office rooms including desks, chairs, cupboards, shelves, computers and any other equipment
Clean the office carpets before and after office hours.
Clean office windows and doors once a week.
Prepare tea and boiled water during the office hours.
Make sure that there is sugar, coffee and milk at the tea/coffee place.
Fill in the water filter whenever necessary
Clean the water filter candles once a month.
Replace and wash regularly tea cups and spoons.
Clean the office toilet every day and keep clean all the equipment of the bed room.
Fill the water containers in the toilet whenever necessary.
Remove the dust from ceilings and walls once a week.
Change bed sheets frequently (as per need)
Collect and place garbage in the appropriate place and make sure that the garbage is taken out from the facility every day.
Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education:

High school graduate.
Knowledge of local languages (Pashto & Dari), knowledge of English will be considered an advantage.

Experience:

At least two years of experience in similar roles with i/NGOs

Technical Skills:

Attention to detail.
Helpful and courteous manner.
Transparency and trustworthiness.
Ability to take instruction.
Obtained training in cooking and has the ability to cook different types of food.
