The Community Mobilizer will support the effective implementation of the Education Workforce Skills Programme in Logar and Maidan Wardak by leading community outreach, beneficiary mobilization, coordination with local stakeholders, and field-level support for transparent participant selection, attendance follow-up, and internship engagement. The position will work closely with training centers, educational authorities, community representatives, primary schools, and private learning centers to strengthen participation and community ownership throughout the programme cycle.
Roles & Responsibilities
1- Community Outreach and Mobilization:
- Conduct regular community outreach sessions to introduce the project objectives, beneficiary criteria, training opportunities, internship pathways, and expected results to communities, youth, families, and local stakeholders.
2- Coordination with Communities and Authorities:
- Coordinate closely with community elders, shuras, school representatives, educational authorities, and other local stakeholders to ensure transparent communication, community acceptance, and effective implementation of project activities.
- Support the organization of community meetings, awareness sessions, orientation events, and beneficiary selection processes in line with programme guidelines and organizational procedures.
3- Beneficiary Follow-up and Participation Support:
- Maintain regular contact with trainees, families, facilitators, and internship sites to encourage attendance, participation, retention, and successful completion of both training and supervised internship placements.
- Identify participation barriers - including access, family concerns, timing, or social constraints - and report issues promptly to the project team with practical recommendations for follow-up.
4- Internship and Placement Support:
- Liaise with nearby primary schools, private learning centers, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate internship coordination, placement follow-up, and communication between beneficiaries and host institutions.
- Support beneficiaries during their transition from classroom training to supervised practice by helping address field-level issues and promoting positive relationships with placement sites.
5- Accountability and Community Feedback:
- Promote awareness of available feedback and complaint mechanisms and encourage communities and beneficiaries to use them in a safe, respectful, and accessible manner.
- Document community feedback, concerns, and suggestions and share them with the project team to strengthen accountability, responsiveness, and programme quality.
6- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, meetings, participant follow-up, attendance concerns, community feedback, and coordination actions, and submit timely field updates to the supervisor.
- Support the collection of beneficiary information, consent where required, activity evidence, case examples, and field documentation in accordance with organizational procedures.
7- Safeguarding and Compliance:
- Ensure all community engagement activities are conducted in accordance with safeguarding principles, protection standards, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
- Promote respectful conduct, confidentiality, non-discrimination, and appropriate referral of sensitive issues observed during community engagement and field implementation.
8- Any Other Supportive Duties:
- Provide field-level support to project staff during training delivery, internship coordination, awareness campaigns, assessments, and other programme activities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Carry out any other relevant responsibilities required for the effective implementation of the Education Workforce Skills Programme.
