Position Summary:
The PSEA Gender Focal Point / Reporting Officer will serve as the primary contact for safeguarding, gender equity, and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) within the PREVALE Project. The role ensures that staff, partners, and communities are aware of PSEA policies, reporting mechanisms, and gender-sensitive practices. The officer will facilitate confidential reporting, coordinate case referrals, and support integration of gender and safeguarding standards across project activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Safeguarding & PSEA
- Act as the primary focal point for PSEA concerns within the project.
- Raise awareness among staff and communities on safeguarding, gender equity, and reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure staff are trained on PSEA policies, codes of conduct, and reporting procedures.
- Establish and maintain confidential reporting channels for staff and community members.
- Document and report PSEA cases in line with organizational and donor requirements, ensuring confidentiality and survivor-centered approaches.
- Coordinate referrals to appropriate services and authorities when required.
2. Gender Mainstreaming
- Support integration of gender-sensitive approaches in HR, recruitment, and project activities.
- Promote equitable participation of women and men in project interventions.
- Provide guidance on gender-responsive programming and workplace practices.
3. Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare regular reports on PSEA and gender-related activities, incidents, and follow-up actions.
- Monitor compliance with organizational safeguarding standards and donor requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, HR, and safeguarding teams to strengthen accountability systems.
4. Capacity Building
- Organize trainings and awareness sessions for staff, partners, and communities on PSEA and gender equity.
- Provide technical support to field teams on safeguarding and gender-sensitive practices.
- Strengthen community-based mechanisms for reporting and protection.
Work Conditions
- Based at the central office.
- Standard working hours with flexibility during training, reporting, or emergency response periods.
