Position Summary:
The Enumerators is responsible for supporting community engagement and field data collection activities in assigned provinces. The role involves facilitating community meetings, focus group discussions, and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) sessions, as well as conducting field assessments related to agricultural and livestock value chains. The Enumerator collects and documents qualitative and quantitative data, ensures active participation of community members—particularly women and vulnerable groups—and communicates community needs and priorities to the project team. The position also supports logistics for field activities, prepares basic reports on community participation, and ensures that all engagements follow ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and project guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and coordinate community mobilization events and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) sessions in assigned provinces with coordination of the PRA senior officer.
- Facilitate focus group discussions, and assist in conducting transect walks and social mapping activities.
- Engage with community leaders and local organizations to secure active participation, especially among vulnerable groups such as women, youth, and marginalized households.
- Collect and document qualitative data, ensuring that community feedback, challenges, and priorities are accurately recorded.
- Conduct field data collection for livestock value chain assessments, agricultural value chain assessments, and other project-related assessments using structured tools and questionnaires.
- Act as the conduit between communities and project teams, relaying community priorities, needs, and challenges.
- Support scheduling and logistics for community-based meetings, assessments, and workshops.
- Promote gender-sensitive approaches, ensuring that at least 50% of participants are women where culturally and operationally feasible.
- Prepare preliminary community participation and attendance reports, including documentation of key findings from field engagements.
- Coordinate with Provincial Project Assistants and technical specialists to integrate community insights and collected data into project technical reports.
- Identify potential local champions and community facilitators and support local capacity development initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity during all community engagements and data collection processes.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating validation workshops and community feedback sessions to confirm findings and strengthen community ownership of project interventions.
Work Conditions:
- Based in Kabul, with frequent travel to provincial project sites.
- May be required to work extended hours during peak implementation periods or reporting cycles.
