Job Descriptions:

The Internal Audit Officer assists the Internal Audit Department in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes across the bank. The officer ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, bank policies, and industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Execute audits of branches and departments in line with Audit Policy and approved audit workplan.
  2. Reviewing compliance with internal policies, procedures, checklists and regulatory requirements.
  3. Evaluating risk management practices.
  4. Assessing effectiveness of internal controls.
  5. Performing follow-up audits on previously reported observations.
  6. Preparing audit working papers and documentation for CIA/Deputy CIA review.
  7. Assist in preparing annual and periodic audit plans.
  8. Execute audit programs under supervision.
  9. Perform fieldwork assigned by team leader and testing of transactions and controls and KYCs.
  10. Identify and document control weaknesses and operational risks.
  11. Help team leader in preparing draft audit reports and findings.
  12. Maintain proper audit documentation and working papers.
  13. Support the Internal Audit Department in special reviews as required and assigned by the CIA/ Dy. CIA.
  14. Any other task assigned by line manger.
Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, banking and finance and master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience related to the position.  

Skills and Competencies:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dari, Pashto, & English.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using banking software and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
