Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

Ensure quality laboratory and communicable disease control services in compliance with national standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise laboratory technicians.
  2. Ensure implementation of quality control procedures.
  3. Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration.
  4. Monitor reagent and supply stock levels.
  5. Ensure biosafety and waste management compliance.
  6. Verify the accuracy of diagnostic tests.
  7. Support disease surveillance reporting.
  8. Train lab staff on SOPs.
  9. Participate in outbreak investigations.
  10. Submit monthly laboratory performance reports.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
  • 3–5 years of laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of MoPH lab standards.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, Pashto, and Dari with excellent speaking and writing skills.
  • Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design, and presentations.
  • Other skills required:

  • Efficient, result-oriented, and excellent management capabilities.
  • Ability to identify project weaknesses and gaps and to take corrective action.
  • Ability in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and harsh conditions; ability to handle.
  • confidential and politically sensitive issues responsibly and maturely.
  • Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity.
  • Ability to travel throughout the country.
  • Respect the confidentiality of the organization.
