The Psychosocial Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, and refining training materials and resources for Psychosocial Support (PSS) counseling. The role includes delivering practical training sessions, providing ongoing technical support to PSS counselors and relevant staff, and ensuring the effective implementation of psychosocial practices.
The Psychosocial Supervisor coordinates and oversees psychosocial support activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health and psychosocial services. This position involves training PSS counselors in best practices and effective methodologies, mentoring and guiding staff, ensuring adherence to professional and ethical standards, and fostering a supportive environment for both beneficiaries and team members.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination
- Plan, implement, and monitor psychosocial support activities in alignment with project objectives and approved guidelines.
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of services across all supported locations.
Team Supervision
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to psychosocial staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and support staff professional development and well-being.
Capacity Building
- Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and case discussions to enhance staff competencies.
- Develop and update training materials in line with best practices in psychosocial support and mental health care.
Case Management Oversight
- Review and support complex cases, ensuring ethical, confidential, and culturally sensitive interventions.
- Promote trauma-informed and client-centered approaches in service delivery.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report data on psychosocial activities.
- Identify gaps, challenges, and areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Strengthen referral pathways and service integration.
- Represent the organization in relevant coordination meetings when required.
Safeguarding and Ethics
- Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding policies, confidentiality principles, and professional ethical standards.
- Promote a safe and protective environment for beneficiaries and staff.
