2. Purpose of the Position
The Project Manager will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all project activities, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines, governmental sectorial requirements, timelines, and approved budgets.
3. Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage and oversee all grant implementation activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop detailed work plans, implementation schedules, and monitoring tools
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of project outputs and outcomes
Team & Staff Management
- Supervise, guide, and evaluate project staff and consultants
- Ensure effective coordination and communication among team members
- Support capacity building and performance management of staff
Financial & Budget Management
- Oversee project budget implementation and expenditure tracking
- Ensure efficient and transparent use of project resources
- Coordinate with finance team to ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial procedures
SMEs & MSMEs Support
- Lead project activities related to SMEs and MSMEs development
- Ensure technical relevance of interventions for business growth and sustainability
- Coordinate with stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries
Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with donor policies and standards, and donor requirements
- Prepare and submit timely narrative and financial reports
- Monitor risks, challenges, and mitigation measures
Coordination & Representation
- Represent the project in meetings with donor, partners, and stakeholders
- Maintain strong coordination with relevant institutions, SMEs and community actors
4. Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project management
- Proven experience working with SMEs and MSMEs projects
- Strong experience in staff supervision, budget management, and donor-funded projects
- Knowledge of donor procedures and projects is an advantage
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
