About Afghan Paramount Welfare and Development Org (APWDO):

Afghan Paramount Welfare Development Organization (APWDO) is a national non-governmental (not-for-profit) organization, established in 2008, and registered by ministry of economy (MoEc) with the license Number 2258

Since its establishing, APWDO is providing Humanitarian, Developmental services throughout 36 provinces of the Afghanistan. The organization is focused in Areas of Humanitarian assistance, Emergency response projects, Protection, Women empowerment, Food & Shelter Security, Health and CBE classes. The Organization is fund-based institute totally relying on the international funds. So far, APWDO has partnered with multiple INGOs including UNDP, UNAMA, UNOPS, UNOCHA, AHF, FCDO, DOS, USAID etc.

APWDO is an indigenous organization that seeks to invest resource, efforts, time, and energies in intervention responsive to the local needs, backed by evidence from the ground collected through close consultation with the local communities, formal and informal institution.  

Job Descriptions:

The role:

 The Provincial Coordinator (PC) will be responsible overall for the direct implementation of the project, including coordination, work plan, reporting, team management, coaching, and program compliance at the field level. S/he will ensure that the project activities are implemented within time, quality, and budget. The position is expected to effectively support quality delivery of APWDO work at grassroot level and achieve sustainable impact in the lives of children who are out of school. The Provincial Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the Education Country Manager based in APWDO head office and will effectively represent APWDO at the local level.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual plans based on the project core documents and personal experience to enhance decision-making for future activities.
  • Assist the line supervisor (Education Country Manager) with planning, organizing, and controlling project activities through communicating risks, opportunities, and the current state of the project.
  • Conduct regular field visits, preferably jointly with the MEAL Officer, assess progress and share feedback with field staff, under the guidance of the Education Country Manager (ECM).
  • Actively attending coordination meetings, internally and externally, with stakeholders at the field level
  • Lead overall implementation of the project at the field level and ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • She/he is responsible for continued coordination with staff, stockholders, beneficiaries, and the local community.
  • Oversees quality and on-time implementation of the various components of the project
  • Support and follow up on the implementation of the project activities in a timely manner.
  • Assisting the APWDO operation team in finance and admin-related activities
  • Assist the M&E officer in data collection and the monthly M&E report, and develop an action plan to address observations.
  • Assist the consultant in conducting assessments
  • Coordinate/facilitate TOT/orientation workshop for the master trainers and trainers’ assistants for each phase of implementation
  • Oversee the selection process of trainees.
  • Overseas monitoring and evaluation of the program, ensuring achievement of project objectives and indicators.
  • Lead and guide staff in the effective implementation of the project activities in the province
  • Ensure timely and appropriate reporting on project activity progress to the line supervisor.
  • Collaboration: Builds and maintains effective relationships with their team, colleagues, members, and external partners and supporters.
  • The post holder will be employed under a probationary contract, and if required, the same procedures will apply for a period of 6–9 months.
  • Prepare weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual reports based on the assigned ToR and additional responsibilities beyond the ToR to ensure effective implementation and accountability.
  • Reporting to the Education Country Manager (ECM), donor, and other addresses by consulting ECM.
  • Additional job responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities set out above are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time, which are reasonable in relation to their level of skills and experience.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma / bachelor’s degree in business administration, Education, Economics, or related field.
  • At least three years’ relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in the education sector in NGOs.
  • Strong Knowledge in the use of Ms. Office, Google Docs, Kobo Toolbox, Google Forms, Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and other MIS tools for overall data collection and reporting requirements. Must be proactive, flexible, and hard-working with irregular hours. Experience in the Education Coordinator Role.
  • Good organization, planning, financial monitoring, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, alongside varied local language skills are preferred (Dari, Pashto, etc).
