The M&E Officer supports the design, implementation, and management of monitoring and evaluation activities for MHCO projects in Nangarhar province. This role ensures that projects have clear, measurable indicators, accurate data collection, and robust reporting systems. Responsibilities include conducting field visits, verifying data, maintaining databases, analyzing results, preparing reports, and supporting assessments and evaluations. The M&E Officer also trains and mentors staff on M&E tools, promotes evidence-based decision-making, documents lessons learned, and ensures accountability mechanisms are implemented. This position contributes to improving program quality and compliance with organizational and donor standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of M&E frameworks, tools, and guidelines.
- Contribute to project logframes, indicators, and M&E plans during project design.
- Ensure all projects have clear, measurable indicators and data collection methodologies.
- Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess project activities and verify data.
- Train field staff on data collection tools and reporting requirements.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and complete data collection from field locations.
- Maintain project databases and ensure data quality (accuracy, consistency, reliability).
- Compile and analyze monitoring data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Prepare M&E sections for donor reports and internal program reviews.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
- Support the preparation of dashboards, presentations, and data summaries.
- Participate in baseline, midline, and endline assessments.
- Support external evaluations by providing relevant data and documentation.
- Facilitate learning workshops, after-action reviews, and reflection sessions with project teams.
- Promote evidence-based decision making to improve program quality.
- Support implementation of MHCO’s Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) policies.
- Ensure functioning and accessible feedback and complaint mechanisms at field level.
- Track, document, and escalate feedback and complaints as per MHCO procedures.
- Coordinate with program teams, field staff, and partners for M&E activities.
- Provide ongoing training and technical support to staff on M&E tools and methodologies.
- Represent MHCO in M&E-related meetings, clusters, or working groups when assigned.
