About French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children:

Since 2006, the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) in Kabul, Afghanistan, has served patients from all 34 provinces. FMIC provides specialized consultations, advanced diagnostics (CT, MRI, radiology), surgeries, a 24/7 pharmacy, and state-of-the-art laboratory testing. It has recorded over 2.3 million patient visits and consultations, conducted 6.8 million laboratory tests, and performed 59,000 surgeries, including more than 5,700 paediatric and adult cardiac procedures. As Afghanistan’s first ISO and SafeCare-certified hospital (recertified in 2024), FMIC has pioneered open-heart surgery, advanced diagnostics, and telemedicine, earning the IHF Award in 2021.

With a 176-bed capacity and a highly skilled Afghan medical team, FMIC is committed to advancing healthcare excellence. Through its Patient Welfare Support Programme, it has provided over $57.6 million in subsidized or free care, ensuring equitable access to high-quality treatment for vulnerable populations.

Job Descriptions:

a. Regular Responsibilities:

Monitor all network equipment and respond immediately after failures
Install OS and other applications as required on computers
Maintain operations activity logs and event trail, and network error logs
Implement system tape/disk online backup using HP Data Protector.
Provide first-line maintenance of all clients’ complaints, including network, application, or Hardware troubleshooting if required
Assigned the user requests to technicians
Fabrications of cables for various main computer-related equipment and client computers.
Managing and monitoring the ICT asset.
Responsible for managing and configuring the network devices such as switches, routers, and access points.
Provide MS Office and other applications training to users to work efficiently.
Attend to daily tickets on time from the helpdesk software on a daily basis
Responsible for providing support on eHealth activities
Configuring and Maintaining the FMIC Network through Cisco technologies and Juniper
Any other task assigned by the supervisor/manager.

b. Periodic Responsibilities:

Implementation and management of Microsoft server environment, including Active Directory, Print Server, Member Server, Software Update Server, and various application Servers.
Respond to trouble calls on the main system during nights and emergency situations.
Ensure preventive maintenance of Servers, Racks, Switches, and routers is carried out on schedule.
Responsible for updating and monitoring the ITC quality indicators in the quality manual files.
Responsible for planning and performing the Windows patching activity on all servers once a quarter.
Responsible for restoring the backup of servers once a month to test the backups.

Job Requirements:

Able to handle all IT and communication-related problems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under difficult working conditions.
Good computer skills, especially in MS Office.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in progress.
IT Certification (MCSE and CCNA).
