Summary:

The District Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of education projects at the district level. This role ensures that planned activities are carried out effectively, in coordination with schools, communities, local authorities, and project staff. The coordinator supervises field teams, monitors progress, resolves challenges, and ensures that education services are delivered in line with project goals and timelines. They also represent the organization at the district level and support reporting, logistics, and community engagement.

Job Description:

  • Lead and oversee day-to-day implementation of education activities in the district. 
  • Coordinate with district education departments, school principals, and local leaders. 
  • Supervise field staff such as teachers, mobilizers, or facilitators under the project. 
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and support to schools and learning centers. 
  • Monitor education activities and collect accurate field data for reporting. 
  • Identify implementation challenges and provide immediate feedback to the provincial team. 
  • Support training, awareness, and community engagement sessions.
  • Represent the organization in district-level coordination meetings and education forums. 
  • Ensure that gender, inclusion, and child protection principles are observed in all activities. 
  • Submit regular progress reports, success stories, and recommendations to supervisors.
Job Requirements:

Job Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of working experience in similar positions in Education Programs with national and international NGOs.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Educational Management& Leadership, Teacher Education, School Improvement/School Effectiveness), development studies, social science, and related fields.

Required Languages – Excellent English, Pashto, and Dari reading, writing, and verbal skills,

Travel – The position will be based in the Provincial center, with travel to the districts.

  • Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity;
  • Respect the confidentiality of the organization;
  • Ability to use information technology effectively.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of the Child education system in Afghanistan
  • Skill of implementing activities in coordination with the District Education Department, other Govt officials, local elected bodies, NGOs, project experts, and concerned community members. Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Organizational and time management skills are needed to ensure programs are completed by the scheduled time.
  • Ability to organize and conduct different seminars and workshops for teacher and staff development.
  • Interpersonal skills needed to work with a variety of people throughout the organization.
  • Honest judgment for assessing staff performance and capacity building of staff for smooth implementation of the program.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be honest and responsible.
