Job Descriptions:

1. Background

The WGE project aims to enhance the safety, well-being, and development of women and adolescents’ girls in the provinces of Herat, Badghis, and Farah through improved access to Gender services, community-based protection structures, and empowerment initiatives. WASSA, implement this initiative, focusing on , gender equality, livelihood, and community resilience.

The Project manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities to ensure quality delivery, accountability, and alignment with project objectives and donor requirements.

2. Scope of Work

The Project manager is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the WGE project, ensuring timely delivery of activities and achievement of results. The role requires technical expertise, leadership, and coordination across multiple sectors and stakeholders, with a focus on, gender sensitivity, Livelihood, and community engagement.

Job Requirements:

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Project Management

  1. Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities across Herat, Badghis, and Farah provinces.
  2. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and budgets in line with the project’s objectives and donor requirements.
  3. Monitor progress, identify challenges, and propose solutions to ensure smooth implementation.
  4. Ensure integration of cross-cutting themes (gender equality, PSEA, and safeguarding) in all activities.

B. Technical Oversight

  1. Oversee the establishment of inclusive community protection centers.
  2. Supervise the delivery of services such as PSS, Livelihood, and nutrition awareness and hygiene kits.
  3. Supervise training on, gender, and livelihood for community members.
  4. Ensure quality and relevance of positive parenting sessions and family support initiatives.

 

C. Stakeholder Coordination

  1. Maintain effective communication with donors, implementing partners, and local authorities.
  2. Represent WASSA in coordination clusters.
  3. Coordinate with local organizations and service providers to strengthen referral mechanisms.

D. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL)

  1. Collaborate with the MEAL team to monitor and evaluate project activities.
  2. Utilize community feedback mechanisms to refine interventions and ensure inclusivity.
  3. Maintain project documentation, including activity reports, case studies, and success stories.

E. Capacity Building and Team Management

  1. Supervise and mentor project staff, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
  2. Facilitate capacity-building sessions for team members to enhance technical and operational skills.
  3. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

F. Compliance and Reporting

  1. Ensure adherence to WASSA’s policies, including PSEA and safeguarding.
  2. Prepare and submit high-quality narrative reports to donors and management.

4. Cross-Cutting Issues

  1. Gender Equality: Promote gender-sensitive approaches across all activities, ensuring participation of women and girls.
  2. Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with communities, ensuring their participation in planning and monitoring.
  3. Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP): Utilize feedback channels to address beneficiary needs effectively.
