The Community Health Supervisor (CHS) is responsible for overseeing and supporting community health activities within the assigned project area. The CHS ensures effective implementation of health promotion, disease prevention, and outreach services through the supervision of Community Health Workers (CHWs). The role includes capacity building, monitoring of community-based interventions, data collection and reporting, and coordination with health facilities and stakeholders to improve community access to essential health and nutrition services.
• Community health supervisor is overall responsible for planning, executing and reporting all CBHC activities as per project scope of work and Ministry of Public Health policies and maintain close working coordination of local communities with health facility.
• Assist HF in-charge for the establishment of HF and health post level community health shuras with active participation and involvement of local community elders.
• Conduct regular CHWs health posts visits and attend HF and HP level local coordination and monthly health committee meetings.
• Organize and facilitate CHWs trainings and conduct supportive supervision from all HP within HF catchment area with main focus on CHWs on the job training, receiving feedback from local communities/clients and reporting to HF.
• Prepare schedule for monthly health Shura meetings and ensure full and active participation of community elders.
• Support Health facility to organize services in terms of clients/patients flow control/screening.
• Maintain regular communication and establish close working coordination between community and health facility.
• Responsible to support community in finding and solving health problems.
• Assist HF staff in providing plans of community health programs in the health facility and the catchments areas.
• Conduct community awareness sessions as per Health Facility plan and IEC materials given by Health Facility In-charge/doctor on regular basis.
• Conduct regular health education sessions according to the health facility health education plan and organize public awareness sessions in target communities and HP level with active involvement of CHWs.
• Regular reporting to health facility regarding all CBHC activities and CHWs monthly performance.
• To use and report Health committee information to monitor the health status and deliver the report to head of health facility.
