Job Descriptions:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement MEAL tools (e.g., pre-/post-tests, surveys, observation checklists) aligned with the project’s logical framework and indicators.
  2. Conduct routine monitoring visits to field sites to ensure activities are progressing as planned and achieving desired outcomes.
  3. Support the development of a project-specific MEAL plan, including indicator tracking, data collection frequency, and responsible persons.
  4. Facilitate baseline, midline, and endline assessments, ensuring methodological rigor and ethical standards.
  5. Lead the collection, verification, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data related to HLP interventions.
  6. Use digital tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK, Google Forms) for field data collection and ensure timely uploads and backups.
  7. Maintain a secure and organized MEAL database and ensure data is disaggregated by age, gender, and vulnerability.
  8. Support field teams in collecting beneficiary feedback and ensure complaint mechanisms are operational and accessible.
  9. Provide regular updates, data summaries, and analysis to the Project Manager for reporting to AHF and internal stakeholders.
  10. Contribute to the drafting of monthly, interim, and final reports, particularly on achievements against indicators and beneficiary reach.
  11. Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from field activities to inform program improvement.
  12. Assist in organizing review workshops, learning sessions, and after-action reviews to reflect on implementation.
  13. Establish and maintain complaint and feedback response mechanisms (CFRM) at the community level.
  14. Ensure all complaints and feedback are logged, tracked, and addressed in coordination with the relevant teams.
  15. Promote transparency and beneficiary participation through community meetings, notice boards, and inclusion of vulnerable voices.
  16. Support the integration of protection, gender, and “Do No Harm” principles into all MEAL activities.
  17. Train project staff, including Community Mobilizers and Officers, on MEAL tools, indicator tracking, and data collection ethics.

Support team understanding of project outcomes and indicators for effective implementation and results tracking.

Job Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.
  2. Minimum 4 years of experience in a MEAL position, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
  3. Experience with data collection tools (e.g., Kobo, ODK), Excel, and data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Power BI).
  4. Knowledge of HLP, protection, or legal assistance programming is an asset.
  5. Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  7. Fluent in Pashto and Dari; working knowledge of English is required.
