Required Qualification, experience and skills
Minimum Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in the field of Geodesy/Geomatic/survey with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of survey and application of ArcGIS software and related programs or a minimum of Master degree in Geodesy/Geomatic/survey with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of survey and application of ArcGIS software and related programs. The candidate shall at least have the following qualifications, experience and skills:
a. Fully expert in field survey, topographic survey, location survey, plotting of survey, Preparation of plans, profiles, cross sections, quantities estimation and application of DGPS, GPS Total station, Level Machine and Civil 3D.
b. Shall attach a copy of his higher degree to his application form and Cv.
c. Shall attach a copy of the certificates/recommendation letters and copies of his contracts which proves his experience in design of water supply projects along with complete address and mobile phone numbers of his direct supervisors.
d. Ability to operate and use ArcGIS software with good understanding of other GIS related software's like Google Earth and Global Mapper and the devices such as GPS, digitizers and plotters.
e. Understanding of map projections
f. Understand and respond to mapping requests from various MEW departments,
g. Understand and can work with a variety of mapping data, including topographic, geologic, climatic and other types of maps, various types of overlays, satellite imagery, GPS data, etc.
h. Experience in working in international work environments.
i. Extensive experience of ESRI ArcGIS (preferable) and Arc Hydro and Global Mapper.
j. Ability to Extracts geographic data from High Resolution Satellite Imagery.
Skills
- Ability to demonstrate the highest level of ethical standards at all times
- Ability to operate the DGPS, GPS, TOTAL STATION AND LEVEL MACHINE
- Ability to work and train using ESRI software (ArcGIS10.x, Arc Info Desktop, ArcSDE, ArcIMS ArcView 10.x) Other software also (ERDAS Imagine, Global Mapper).
- Familiarity in programming in related languages desired.
- Personal computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, email, presentation, and database software.
- Familiarity with at least one statistical software package is desired.
- Excellent organization and management skills essential, including ability to coordinate a
- variety of tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated strong analytical capability and excellent interpersonal skills are required
- including the ability to interact effectively with others taking into account cultural sensitivities.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Work as a team player to support other program activities and promote institutional goals.
- Ability to balance competing priorities on a tight deadline
