Job Purpose

Provision of essential health services for the people in need.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Under direct management of the senior Health Officer the Medical Doctor is responsible for the following main activities to ensure the provision of quality OPD.

  •  To perform emergency first care if needed.
  • Dispensing of rational medicines usage to patients in HSC.
  • Provide medicine/medical supply’s monthly consumption reports regularly.
  • Provide all monthly reports according to the HMIS tools.
  • Ensure the patient's triage registration and measurements of vital signs.
  • Provision of OPD services and community awareness of diseases and vaccines.
  • Evaluating all children for acute malnutrition and recording measurements of SAM & MAM on the treatment card.
  • Considering the needs of patients and writing appropriate prescriptions.
  • Maintaining patients' confidentiality and respecting their human dignity.
  • Examining patients and referring complex cases to higher-level health facilities.
  • Ensuring that all team members are performing their duties correctly in the field
  • The proper registration of patients’ information.
  • Dressing and first aid care of injured patients if needed.
  • Recording and reporting of beneficiaries or patients regularly.
  • Identify any patient needing urgent care and refer them immediately to the equipped health center.
  • Register any patient coming to seek care in the registration book.
  • Respect IMC standards of procedures for referral and stabilization of patients.
  • Take part in the management of pharmaceutical, medical commodities and medical equipment.
  • Accompany patients to the external referral health facility when required.
  • Any other activity assigned by line Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  1.  Graduated from an accredited medical faculty with successful completion of the exit exam.
  2. A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in BPHS, EPHS health facilities or similar projects, post-graduation.
  3. Received Up-to-Date training in Health Management Information System (HMIS).
  4. Completion of the full IMNCI training package.
  5. Preference will be given to candidates who are local residents.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in BPHS, EPHS health facilities or similar projects, post-graduation.
  • Familiarity with the BPHS system.

Competency

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Pashto and working knowledge of English.
