Job Descriptions:

The VSTP Supervisor will provide day-to-day supervision and technical and administrative support to VSTP field activities and staff. The position will ensure that beneficiaries receive appropriate services and support, project activities are implemented according to the approved workplan, and accurate information and reports are submitted to project management.

The Supervisor will also monitor beneficiaries' progress, including the use of livelihood-related support and how beneficiaries are utilizing project assistance to generate or improve their income.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of VSTP field staff.
  • Ensure that project activities are implemented according to the approved workplan, targets, and timelines.
  • Conduct regular visits to monitor project implementation and staff performance.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to staff.
  • Monitor staff attendance, performance, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Identify operational challenges and communicate them promptly to the Project Manager/Coordinator.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between field teams and the WADAN Main Office and stakeholders.
  • Monitor registered beneficiaries and their participation in project activities.
  • Follow up on beneficiaries who receive livelihood-related support or assistance.
  • Monitor how beneficiaries utilize the assistance provided to them.
  • Assess and document whether beneficiaries are able to use the support to generate income or improve their livelihoods.
  • Identify challenges faced by beneficiaries and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain accurate beneficiary records and ensure that beneficiary information is kept confidential.
  • Ensure that project interventions are delivered fairly, transparently, and in accordance with approved selection criteria.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of VSTP activities at field level.
  • Ensure that activities are implemented in line with approved project objectives and indicators.
  • Track progress against project targets and workplans.
  • Identify gaps, delays, and implementation challenges and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation of field activities, including attendance sheets, beneficiary records, monitoring forms, and other supporting documents.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of field-level data before submission.
  • Prepare and submit regular activity and progress reports to the Project Manager/Coordinator.
  • Compile field reports submitted by VSTP staff and ensure their accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain proper records of beneficiaries, activities, distributions/support provided, monitoring visits, and other project documentation.
  • Provide timely information and data required for donor, management, monitoring, and evaluation reports.
  • Document success stories, challenges, lessons learned, and good practices from project implementation.
  • Immediately report any serious incident, complaint, fraud concern, safeguarding issue, or other significant problem through the appropriate reporting channels. Coordinate with relevant government departments, community representatives, local authorities, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with community leaders and beneficiaries.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and technical discussions when required.
  • Represent WADAN professionally and ensure that communication with external stakeholders follows organizational procedures.
Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, Management, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • A relevant master's degree will be considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in project supervision, field coordination, livelihoods, community development, humanitarian/development programs, or a related area.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects is preferred.
  • Experience supervising field staff and monitoring beneficiaries is highly desirable.
  • Experience in preparing project reports and maintaining project documentation.
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto.
  • Good working knowledge of English is preferred.
