Momin Afghan Microfinance Institution (MAMI) was established in 2024 in Afghanistan. The institution operates under a valid license issued by Da Afghanistan Bank and is formally authorized to provide microfinance services in accordance with Da Afghanistan Bank MFI’s Regulations.

MAMI is engaged in the provision of microfinance services, including Islamic financing and asset-based financing (Murabaha), to support micro and small entrepreneurs, low-income households, and community-based businesses. Job Descriptions:

Momin Afghan Microfinance Institution (MAMI) is seeking a qualified, experienced, and motivated professional to serve as Branch Manager at its Qala-e-Fathullah Branch in Kabul. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing branch operations, overseeing Islamic financing activities, ensuring effective client service, monitoring portfolio quality and recovery performance, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with the institution’s policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the overall operations of the Qala-e-Fathullah Branch in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement branch business plans to achieve financing, portfolio growth, client outreach, and recovery targets.
  • Oversee Islamic financing activities, including client assessment, financing applications, disbursement, and follow-up.
  • Monitor portfolio quality, overdue installments, and portfolio at risk (PAR), and implement effective recovery measures.
  • Ensure that all financing activities comply with Sharia principles, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, guide, and evaluate branch staff to ensure productivity, accountability, and professional performance.
  • Maintain effective client relationships and address client complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor branch financial and operational performance and prepare accurate periodic reports for management.
  • Ensure proper documentation, recordkeeping, cash management, and safeguarding of institutional assets.
  • Coordinate with Head Office departments, including Finance, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, and Internal Audit.
  • Identify operational risks and take appropriate corrective actions in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Promote ethical conduct, transparency, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the branch.
Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Management, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant work experience in microfinance, banking, financial services, or a related field is required, preferably including supervisory or branch management experience.
  • Good understanding of Islamic financing products, particularly Murabaha and Musharaka, is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage branch operations, supervise staff, monitor financing portfolios, and achieve business and recovery targets.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, problem-solving, decision-making, and client relationship management.
  • Familiarity with internal controls, risk management, and applicable financial sector regulations.
  • Proficiency in Dari and Pashto is required; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Good computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, are required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
